Carl Hennum spent 40 years helping people move seamlessly by highway, ferry, and plane. After retiring from his career with the Ministry of Transportation, an accident at home left him paralyzed from the waist down. Suddenly, access was no longer about infrastructure at scale. It became about doorways, sidewalks, entrances – and whether a space welcomed him or quietly excluded him.
